about

I live in Scotland, one of the most beautiful countries in the world, with ever changing seasons and a rich diversity of wildlife. I learnt to wonder at the behaviour of wildlife from a very young age. I am very fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful birds and animals locally. I spend many hours watching and photographing hares, foxes , deer, local wading birds and migrants, such as short eared owls, pink footed geese and waxwings, that pass through for short times in autumn and winter. I also love to travel and particularly enjoy wildernesses and their wildlife inhabitants. The arctic has become one of my favourite locations recently, from Svalbard to the north of Canada. I have also spent many wonderful times in Africa and India. I particularly enjoy spending time with bears and have had many wonderful encounters from Alaska to British Columbia and Svalbard with grizzlies, black bears, polar bears and the amazing spirit bear. I photograph mainly now with a 300 or 50 mm lens as I try to capture not just the wildlife but also its environment. I enjoy photography, but more than that I enjoy watching and learning about the wildlife and animal behaviour and have experienced many wonderful encounters.
